This work features a woman in a ball gown, whose torso leans back as if melting, while her spine and the back of her head resemble melted wax — creating a metaphor for inner exhaustion. The massive, stable form of the gown enters into dialogue with the fragility of the figure, symbolizing an inner core — that support which prevents a complete fall. The sculpture speaks to the importance of this strength, which helps maintain balance and continue on one's path.
